The President of Iran H.E. Hassan Rouhani met with the President of the Republic of Moldova H.E. Igor Dodon and the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov in Tehran on 12th of February.

The President of Iran H.E. Hassan Rouhani thanked the FIDE President for organizing FIDE Women's World Championship. The FIDE President, in return, expressed his gratitude to Iranian authorities.
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has emphasized great work of the Iranian Chess Federation,  which became one of the most active federations in FIDE under the leadership of Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh. He also noted that after New York World Championship Match, which determined the fate of the chess crown in the match Carlsen – Karjakin, all the attention of the chess world is concentrated on Tehran, where the fate of the title of Women’s World Champion will be will be decided in a few weeks.  FIDE President invited the Iranian President to take part in the closing ceremony of the Women’s World Chess Championship.
